Why You Should Use Gleam For Your Next Giveaway

10/06/15

This is an unbiased post for which I have not been compensated. Referral links have the potential to generate income, but unlikely since Gleam is awesome and you don’t need to pay for anything.

One of the easiest and fastest ways to grow your blog or business following is to host a giveaway. Most bloggers use a well-known system called Rafflecopter with which to host them. The upside to this system is that it’s easy to use, it works well, and it’s become well known and respected in the blogging community. The downside? Well, it’s gotten kind of expensive at a now $13 per month if you want to utilize any of its better options such as Pinterest entries or to edit the start/end times.

That’s why I’m giving Gleam a try.

Why you should use Gleam to host your next blog giveaway.

Gleam is Free

Of course there are premium options, but unlike Rafflecopter (trust me, I’m not knocking them, but…) Gleam covers all of the options I want and the tools I need in order for my giveaway campaign to be successful:

  • Easy Blog Integration
  • Multiple Login Connections for Users
  • Viral Sharing (Referrals) to gain entries
  • Customizable fields for my use

Don’t get me wrong. I have loved working with Rafflecopter, but I am really enjoying having a set of more powerful tools at my fingertips – at absolutely no cost. For $13/mo I feel like I should have been getting a lot more. Why spend all of that money just to give away something for free?

Gleam is Easy

If you’ve used Rafflecopter, you already have an idea of how to set up entries. But what if I told you that Gleam makes it even easier? I think my favorite thing is this dashboard setting that allows me to choose from a selection of competition types. Want to focus primarily on Twitter based entries? No problem! There’s actually a competition already pre-filled out for you with all of the Twitter based entry types. All you have to do is fill in your own information. It’s so simple!

Gleam Competitions Make it Easy!

Gleam is Powerful

My biggest concern with trying Gleam is that it’s not nearly as well known around the blogging world. I first encountered it being used by Loot Crate and I wondered why they would use a giveaway widget that wasn’t well known. Now that I have looked into Gleam for myself and am trying it now, I get it!

Beyond Gleam’s capabilities as a giveaway widget, its premium plans include access to unlimited user data which means a better understanding of the audience and more successful campaigns. Even more exciting is the ability to brand emails sent out by the widget (which you can turn off with any plan). It makes everything look very professional and seamless.

Gleam Premium Plans

Gleam is Different

I’m not just saying that. Gleam really is different. It allows you to run campaigns which reward your audience. By completing a series of tasks, they can earn rewards like the ability to download freebies, gain access to webinars, earn a coupon to your store and more! And again, it’s easy… because Gleam already has some pre-made templates if you need help getting started or need ideas!

Gleam is different

Gleam is Fast

I know you know the annoying copy and paste, copy and paste of Tweeting and What’s your user name or where’s the link you supposedly just shared. Giveaways should be easy for your readers. It shouldn’t be a huge undertaking to perform each task. People are lazy and you need them to do the least amount of work possible and somehow make that work for you.

Gleam delivers because it’s all very one click. The widget has simplified the entering process by connecting all of the user’s social media to it. Unlike other platforms Gleam does the work for you of verifying the entries to most social networks, saving you time and improving the quality of your competition.

I’m Loving Gleam!

So there you have it. I’m giving Gleam a shot and I am really loving the results. If you’re curious and have a giveaway planned on your blog, why not try Gleam? It’s FREE and I think you’ll find that it’s worth looking into.

Have you used Gleam before? What about Rafflecopter do you not like? – perhaps Gleam has something better in store for you that I can share.

I’ve entered contests using Gleam and, yes, it is much easier. The only thing I’ve noticed is that the “automatic” Instagram entries (Follow and Heart a photo) don’t always work because IG doesn’t like “automatic” type entries. It shows as “verified” but when you go look it hasn’t done the follow or heart/like. Just something to keep in mind if using it for verifying entries. :)
