My New Eyeglasses from GlassesShop.com!

07/31/15

This is a compensated review in which I was provided a free pair of eyeglasses from GlassesShop.com in exchange for my unbiased opinion and user generated photos.

Let’s face it (haha get it? We’re about to talk about eyeglasses), you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a pair of eyeglasses that you should be changing out every couple of years. In most cases, you’re easily looking at spending over $300 after the cost of the frames and lenses. What if I told you that buying quality, prescription glasses was not only affordable, but easy?

Do I have your attention now?

I have a strong prescription that tends to make buying glasses very expensive. So when GlassesShop offered me a free pair in exchange for my review of their cheap glasses (as in, affordable) I jumped right on the opportunity. What I found was a large selection of affordable frames in a range of trendy styles and colors to fit any face shape!

I wanted to try something very different than what I would normally buy. I have always stuck to very plain frames – usually made from metal or mixed materials. This time, I opted to get something that was fun, flirty and more age appropriate (hey now, I’m only turning 30 this year!). I selected these zebra print, full-rimmed plastic frames. How adorable are these!?

My First Impression

You’re probably wondering about the quality and I am going to be honest with you. I would not say that these feel flimsy, but I will say that I am afraid I may break them. I have a unique experience with eyeglasses because it’s one of the many types of repairs we do at my job. Except plastic… we can’t fix plastic. I think that’s why these frames are making me feel nervous. The hinges are tight and the frame flexes when I unfold the bow from their closed position in the morning for wear. Otherwise, the frames are quality! They look nice and seem well made.

GlassesShop was very kind and understanding when it came to my needs as a life-long eyeglasses wearer. For those unaware, I am blind in my right eye and have been since I was an infant. I have struggled with paying extra to get 2 lenses of the same prescription despite the fact that I obviously don’t use one of them. That isn’t a problem with GlassesShop because your lenses are included in the price.

You can pay for extras such as thinner lenses, tints, protective coating, or transition lenses. Their standard package comes with anti-scratch, anti-reflective and UV coating and you can choose to get thinner lenses (and if you’re like me, you probably need to). You can even make any frame into prescription sunglasses by adding a wide range of colored tints to your lenses – perfect for summer!

Savings & Promo Code!

But how much did I REALLY save if I had purchased these myself? The answer is pretty shocking. Remember how I said that I used to spend upwards of $300 on eyeglasses? What if I told you that after the cost of the frames, lenses with all of the standard protective coating, and slimmer lenses that these glasses would have only cost me $45.83 + shipping?

I bet I have your attention now!

GlassesShop has been nice enough to extend an opportunity to get 50% off of eyeglasses and sunglasses with free lenses (sale frames excluded) using code GSHOT50!

So what are you waiting for? Affordable eyeglasses are just around the corner. For less than the cost of your tank of gas, you can see… ya know, so you can drive. And besides… they are totally Harley approved!

I didn’t know you were blind in your right eye. Wow, such a big challenge. These glasses look great on you. The tortoiseshell matches your coloring so well. It’s one of my favorites too. As my eye sight isn’t what it used to be, it’s good to know that this shop has good and affordable glasses. Thanks for the information & review. :)

I’ve been blind in my right eye since I was 2 weeks old because of a botched cataract removal surgery that left me with a torn lens. It certainly has its challenges: I can’t see in 3D, my depth perception isn’t all that great, and my peripheral view is obviously lacking. But despite that all, I have managed to have a pretty full life. I can drive a car (haha small ones) and I’m actually good at putt-putt. :D

Thanks for checking out my post! The glasses are supposed zebra print, but you’re right… it looks more like tortoiseshell. I’m really digging the pattern and color scheme but I’d like to try a slightly different frame shape next time. Strangely enough, no one in person seems to be noticing that I got new glasses. I keep having to point them out. Weird.

Oh my goodness, I’m truly sorry that happened. I guess our challenges make us stronger? Ha! I like that you are still able to drive. People are so weird. I could dye my hair purple and I don’t think they’d notice. lol

Great glasses! I have never shopped there before, but it looks like they have some nice pairs.

They have some pretty nice stuff and I found it really easy to select a comfortable, well-fitting pair. I would definitely buy a pair from them.
