My Christmas Wish List

11/21/14

I hadn’t made an official Christmas wish list since I was a little girl. So when my boyfriend Jeremy asked me to make one, I was a wee bit dumbfounded. What did I want? What was even appropriate to ask for?

I spent a couple of weeks fussing over making my list. I knew what I wanted… but it was very expensive and I didn’t think it would be appropriate for me to ask for such a large, lavish present. Eventually, I caved. I added it to my list in hopes that the other items wouldn’t seem like a big deal by comparison (can you tell I work high-end retail with that thought process?).

I spent too much time worrying about what the cost was. He asked for a wish list, and that’s what it was meant to be. It didn’t mean that he was obligated to buy the more expensive items. It was just meant to give him an idea of what I wanted… what I wished I had. But in my attempt to make a cost-effective list, I ended up forgetting some important items that I’ve wanted for much longer than the ones on my list.

Regardless, I’m happy with my list and already know that a certain item has been purchased, is wrapped and waiting for me on the coffee table. So, yay.

So Here’s My List…

Samsung Galaxy Camera 2– $450

Samsung Galaxy 2 Camera

I wanted this camera because I am borrowing one from my best friend. It’s the one I take all of my blog pictures with. But it’s HUGE. It’s super heavy and it isn’t convenient for on-the-go picture taking at all – which it needs to be if I’m going to take pictures of our cats. Yes, seriously. Best part is that it has built in Wi-Fi. I can basically do anything on it that a smart phone can do… besides make phone calls.

But it’s SO expensive. Like… regularly $450 expensive (although I’m sure it’ll be on sale soon). I don’t know about you, but that’s a lot of money to me. That’s outrageously expensive – especially for just one gift. But I put it on my list because, well… it is what I wanted.

Doctor Who / Starry Night themed Shoes by Canvas Warrior– $250

CanvasWarriorDoctorWhoShoes

I’ve wanted some custom, hand-painted Doctor Who themed shoes off and on. I don’t know what makes me think I’d wear them but I really like the idea of them. It probably wasn’t the best thing to put on my list. They are expensive shoes and I don’t know how much I’d wear them. I think I just really wanted to have them… to collect them… to maybe wear on special occasions.

At $250 USD plus shipping, they are also very expensive. But again, it’s something I wanted and well… perspective. The camera is more expensive but I’d certainly get a lot more use out of that than a pair of shoes.

Doctor Who TARDIS Laplander– $20

DWLaplander

Despite what some may think, it gets cold here in South Carolina. Okay fine… we aren’t experiencing -10 wind chills or anything crazy, but my ears get cold, okay? I’ve wanted this adorable hat for a while… basically almost as long as I have been into Doctor Who.

It sports a $20 price tag which is much more in the realm of possible in my mind. It’s a useful gift that I figured he wouldn’t mind buying for me so I could protect myself from the cold in the winter time.

HoMedics Pro Pedicure Spa with Heat– $70

HomedicsFootSpa

This never technically made my list. I’d casually mentioned that I’d always wanted a proper “foot spa massage thingy” to soak my poor, aching feet in after work. It was useful, practical and they aren’t always super expensive.

My boyfriend has already given me this gift. It made sense for me to have one. I frequently give myself home mani/pedis and more importantly, I needed something to help with my feet because I do have significant problems with them. He purchased this amazing foot spa (and I love it so, so much) and gave it to me early so I could use it during the crazy, holiday rush.

Oh my gosh, that foot spa looks amazing! I know what you mean about not wanting to put expensive things on your list. I’ve been dying to get a set of Copic markers…but they are about $250 and up for a good complete set. Other than that I really just asked for some books and comics!

I LOVE the foot spa. I’ve only used it a couple of times so far but it heats up and feels amazing. I’m definitely getting super spoiled this Christmas!

      What are Copic markers?

Copic markers are an alcohol based marker that blend extremely well together, and also layer brilliantly with each other. I’ve never actually used them, I’ve just always wanted to try them which is why the pricetag seems so crazy! I can’t imagine spending that on art supplies just for me to fool around with!

Yeah no kidding… It amazes me the cost of some things. $250? What if I don’t even like it!?

I wonder if you could find some on ebay for cheaper or something. Oh… maybe put an ad up on Craigslist. They have an Artists section under Community. Perhaps someone has some and would be willing to let you borrow them for a small fee or maybe even for free!

Food spa, camera and the shoes! The shoes look super fun. I haven’t made my list yet, I am a last minute kind of person. I hope you get everything on the list. :)

Haha I hope I don’t… that’s a lot of money right there. :D He’s already done too much. Way too much.
