I have a little secret to share with you. It might surprise you to know this, but this blog absolutely wouldn’t be possible without the love and support of my boyfriend Jeremy. It’s just a fact. I have had several blogs in my time, countless business ideas and none of them ever stuck because I didn’t have the time or ability to really stick with them and give it my all. Jeremy has been incredibly supportive of my blog – especially as he’s watched it grow over the last several months. That’s why for this post, the blog is all about him!
I met Jeremy online via PlentyOfFish.com (I know, okay!? Don’t judge me. Haha). We had our first date planned for May 4th, 2014 but we ended up going out on a whim late the evening before instead. We consider May 4th our official anniversary because that’s when we knew we were together and just sort of never separated. Seriously, I slept over after our first date (shush… I said don’t judge me) and I didn’t leave. I had my own place and I was rarely there for over a month before Jeremy moved me in with him.
I know that sounds crazy, but he and I have both had our share of relationships and we’ve both been married before. We knew exactly what we wanted and there was no sense in playing the dating game. We’ve now been together for 10 months and I think we’ve had all of 2 fights ever. It’s the craziest thing… being in love with someone who fits you exactly.
Today, I want to give him the spotlight by participating in this really awesome link up I found at Heavens to Betsy – a nice way to get your man (or your woman!) involved more with your blog and as a way for readers to get to know them. You know all of those times you said “Honey, will you hold this so I can take a picture of it?” or “Hang on… don’t eat that yet!”? Oh don’t even… I know it’s not just me! Well here’s a chance to give back and let him shine just a little.
Question Time!
I gave Jeremy this set of questions to answer. I typed out his responses as he gave them and then we had a good laugh because he and I share a particular humor that I don’t think comes out much on my blog. His answers are definitely very… him.
1 // If you could write a book, what topic would you write about and why?
I dunno… uh people? Talking about how silly they are… in a format that’s easy to read. I’d just write stupid fiction. Ridiculous stuff that makes you think “What the hell is wrong with this person?”
2 // What is one thing on your bucket list, or one thing that you’d like to do or accomplish in your lifetime?
To be honest, I’d like to see the world and visit as many foreign countries as possible and try to become more cultured. I don’t like being ignorant.
3 // If you could look out your window and only see one view for the rest of your life, what would you want to see?
Are we talking about a jail cell? Am I in jail? Are the windows barred? I guess I’d either want to see the mountains or the ocean. I mean unless there’s a tsunami because that would suck. So I guess the mountains.
4 // Imagine you’re opening a shop. what are you selling?
I like coffee shops. I’ve always thought about opening a coffee shop. It seems like a simple idea and I like coffee so… hey, why not?
5 // If you could have 50lbs of anything other than money, what would it be?
I interjected and told Jeremy “I swear, if I you say ‘Coke, so that I can sell it for money’ I will die.” His reply was “Well, I mean… heroine works then I guess? Or methamphetamines work too.”
*Sighs* My boyfriend, ladies and gentleman.
6 // Time to brag on your girl… tell us one thing that makes you proud of your girlfriend!
She’s a horrible person just like me and I love her. She takes care of her own and doesn’t need me… she just wants me and that’s my favorite thing.
Well, that’s Jeremy for you. We really need to explore making YouTube videos. He has a sort of dark, yet goofy sense of humor that mimics my own. I don’t feel like it comes across well in this text. I hope you enjoyed getting to know him a little better and I look forward to showcasing him in the future!
What Is This?
The Guys Behind the Blog is a linkup opportunity hosted by Heavens to Betsy. It’s the perfect opportunity to get your boyfriend, fiance’, man-child thing involved with your blog so that everyone can get to know… well, the guy behind your blog. Haha! I’m still rolling at #5!
He’s such a brat. All I could think was “OMG What is he going to say? I’m going to have to be honest and put whatever he says…” lol
His answers are hilarious! We share a similar sense of humor :D If it helps, I stayed the night at John’s house the first night we met — I was too drunk to go home ha ha!
Haha It’s so funny because we weren’t even supposed to have our first date until May 4th. But for some reason, after a long day at work I decided “Screw it. Let’s just go out now.” and he was like “Okay!” He picked me up from work, brought me home to change, took me to a super expensive restaurant that wasn’t all that good (lol Sorry dear, but you know my stuffed mushrooms are waaaaay better and not friggin $10).
We clicked instantly. We really are both horrible people. The stuff that comes out of my mouth when I’m with him… OMG. Haha He was going to drop me off at my house and I don’t know what came over me but I agreed to pack a bag and go stay the night with him.
I just sort of didn’t leave after that. After while, the cab company I use to get to work a few days a week started noticing that they were repeatedly picking me up somewhere else. We figured it was time to just move me in. LOL
I have such a hard time picturing you being a horrible person ha ha! However, I can relate. One of my favorite knock-knock jokes is really awful and can only be told to certain people that have a great sense of humor. How funny about the cab company noticing they were picking you up elsewhere :D
