In Search of the Perfect Blush Pink Bedding Set

02/13/16

I never knew that I would have this much trouble buying a bedding set. I’m weighing my options… color vs. quality vs. price vs. availability of matching items. I’m having a hard time choosing, so I thought I would bring it to my readers because clearly, having near strangers help decide what my naked butt is going to sleep on at night is totally the obvious thing to do.

I’d decided on a Blush Pink bedding set. I kept seeing them on Pinterest and I couldn’t stand it – they were gorgeous! Where do I even get them? How would I chose the one that was right for us? Which one would be the most perfect Blush Pink Bedding?

Getting Inspired

The inspiration for our bedroom is much of that of the downstairs: A lot of gray with a pop of color that can easily be changed out later if we get bored. However, unlike downstairs, we’re going for something a bit darker so the room is cozy and sleepy… not bright and awake. My way of making that happen is to bring in a lot of charcoal and medium gray elements, and then balance that with a blush pink.

“Pink!? Jeremy is letting you have PINK!?”, you might be asking aloud.

Yes. I have somehow convinced this man that it’s really okay if we have pink in our bedroom – provided it’s the right pink. Obviously, it can’t be screaming neon pink, magenta, fuschia (wait, is that technically a purple?)… you get my drift. Like I said… this all stemmed from a couple of pictures I found on Pinterest. They have been the inspiration for the entire bedroom. Every time I see them, I just… melt.

I kept seeing pictures like these:

Blush Pink Bedding Set Inspiration

Obviously, the smart thing to do is to find out where I can buy those exact bedding sets, right? After much searching, I came across Cultiver, the store I can buy the Blush Linen Duvet cover at left… and matching pretty much everything. The problem?

The duvet cover + 2 standard pillow shams for a King-sized bed is $345… plus tax and shipping. Ouch. It’s gorgeous, but was I really prepared to spend that much? I mean if I really, really wanted to… I guess we could afford that. How often do you buy bedding sets, right? I mean we’ve been using one from Ross that we both hate for the last 2 years. Imagine how long we’d use one that we actually like! But no. There’s got to be better options out there. I’ve been doing some serious searching. Here’s what I have come up with – and their pros & cons.

Target

So far, this Linen Blend Duvet Set in Blush from Target is a major contender because it’s the least expensive of any linen duvet sets that I have found. For about $90, you get the duvet cover and 2 King-sized pillow shams.

Blush Pink Duvet cover from Target

PROS:
It’s well priced and affordable
It comes with standard pillow shams
I can buy the same set in other colors later
Free Shipping

CONS:
I’m not sure if the color is right
I’m worried about the quality of the product
What is a “blend” anyways?
It has one review and it isn’t stellar

Magic Linen

In my quest, I thought I’d check out what might be available on Etsy. I mean… if I’m going to spend a fortune, I kind of like the idea of going hand-made and having something that is supporting someone. I came across a shop called Magic Linen that makes some beautiful duvet covers, pillow cases, and other linen home goods.

Pale Pink Linen Duvet Cover

Their Pale Pink Linen Duvet Cover is absolutely gorgeous. It’s exactly what I want. But, it’s $211.56 + $17.34 for shipping. So, it’s kind of pricey and like anything else we buy, we’d still have to purchase new sheets and the duvet comforter itself. So price for me is still the big hurdle.

PROS:
It’s hand-made to order
Lots of different pillow options available
I can order custom anything to match
Reviews for all of their items is perfect

CONS:
It’s rather expensive
It’s being shipped from Lithuania
The cost is for the duvet cover only
The matching pillow cases are expensive

Superior Custom Linens

I found this place via Amazon. I figured, where better to shop for some deals… right? I’m suprised by how difficult it was to narrow down the search on Amazon for this type of bedding set. Clearly, it’s not the place to go if you are looking for something very specific. Fortunately, I did find this Pink Linen Duvet Cover & Pillow Case 3 Piece Set for $280.

Ballet Slipper Pink Blush Duvet Bedding

PROS:
It includes the 2 pillow cases
Free Shipping
Button closures are hidden
Hand-made to Order
Additional pieces can be made

CONS:
It looks a lot more pink than I am wanting
Takes 4 weeks just to make it
Extra pillow cases are very expensive

Magnolia Armor

Another Etsy find, this Blush Coral Pink Tie Closure Linen Bedding Set is pre-made and ready to ship. Magnolia Armor is quite an adorable shop that sells several other linen bed sets that I could be on board for, but this one really caught my eye because it has so much character. The biggest drawback is its price of $275 + shipping which includes the duvet cover and two king-sized pillow shams.

Blush Coral Linen Duvet

PROS:
Made in the USA!
Perfect reviews on all products
Adore the Reversible Design
Includes king-sized pillow cases
Kind of digging those cute ties

CONS:
Kind of expensive
Still more pink than I wanted
Cute ties might attract cats?
Extra pillow cases are quite expensive

Edit: I was really leaning towards this one. I loved so much that it wasn’t just blush pink. We have a sort of beige carpet in our new home, and I liked that this reversible duvet cover would help tie that in. Unfortunately, I found out that I couldn’t purchase all of the items seen in the picture. What good is a duvet if I can’t buy the matching pillow cases?

Which One!?

Which of these would you choose? I’d love to read about other pros and cons of each that you see. If you have any other options you’ve found, please feel free to show me! I had no idea how stressful it would be to choose what I sleep on…

Edit: Thanks to everyone who has given so much valuable input on this post! As you can see, I have updated this post with new images showing the Blush Pink Duvet cover set we chose (isn’t Bruce adorable with it?). In the end, we chose the Pale Pink Linen Duvet Cover by Magic Linen and couldn’t be happier with it! I guess you could say… it’s the perfect Blush Pink Bedding Set out there… ha

All 3 of our cats give it two non-opposable thumbs up!

I ask would just order the one you want most. I spent a lot on our bedding set and we’ve had it 7 years so it’s gotten well used and it wasn’t cheap either.

What I have to say will not make you happy… You have to spend the money when it comes to bedding, here’s why, I got what I thought were normal everyday sheets from BBB and they were of medium cost BUT I did not do my sheet research and within 6 months they had pilled (had little balls all over them), so I replaced. As for the duvet, nice ones you have to spend money on! As long as it can be laundered it is worth the money, you can use it FOREVER and say you all do decide against the pink later you can put it in guest room keep using it! If you are REALLY looking for that one look you are going to have to go with the original post place or the Lithuanian one or I think its gonna be too PINK or of complete crap quality. The reviews are truer than you want them to be I have found, but hey this is all just my opinion man…

I really like the last one with the ties, the one we talked about the other day. It’s too precious.

Awww difficult desition! But, it’s bedding, and you better spend money on it, or you’ll end up having to buy another set in no time. Better to have a few good quality items, than many cheap ones. At the end, you sped more or can spend more if you keep on buying cheap. Home is home, if you know what I mean.
