Hello. My name is Kimi Kinsey. Yup. I have a cool superhero name.
I’m the most yankee southerner you’ll ever meet and that’s probably because home is in South Carolina, but my heart resides in Colorado. If I could take southern charm and squish it together with the landscape (and weather!) of Colorado… well, I’d pretty much consider that heaven.
But alas. Here I am in good ole Charleston (or well, that’s what I am going to call it because it’s easier). I’ve lived here for 4 years and I’m only just now finding my way around and planting some roots. We just built a house and moved into it in May 2016!
I am and always will be the optimist, the hoper of far-flung hopes and the dreamer of improbable dreams. – The Doctor
So About That Blog…
You might be new here and if you are, welcome! I do hope you’ll stick around for the crazy that is my blog. See, I like to basically blog about anything and everything that makes me who I am. That’s why my blog is named after me – and not because I’m so vain (in fact, I know this blog is about me) but because it asks and answers a question. Kimi Who? Well, you’re going to find out!
Basically, I’m just an average, geeky girl… blogging about everything that makes me, me. That means I like to post about every day things, my 3 cats, what’s going on with our home, and sometimes I even throw in some product reviews and blogging tips I’ve picked up.
Yes, this means that this is a for profit blog. I want to be honest with you about that because I feel like too many bloggers aren’t. As much as it is my passion to write and interact with my audience, I’m also here to make a profit. There are ads on my website and I occasionally accept money in exchange for sponsored posts.
Look at My Boyfraaaand
We have an interesting back story that involves us meeting online, chatting and then losing touch until a year later. We often joke that we weren’t ready for one another just yet and that the universe clearly had a plan in mind.
Although we live together, Jeremy and I are sadly apart often due to his job. He’s often out of state during the week working on power monitoring systems at various job sites and comes home on weekends.
We’re Cat People…
Of course our home wouldn’t be complete without our 3 cats. They drive me absolutely insane every day, but there’s something about coming home to these 3 that really makes life feel a little more complete.
Bruce & Oliver
Bruce & Oliver (lovingly named after Batman & The Arrow) are orange tabby cats that we adopted from a couple via Craigslist. They are from the same litter and were born on June 13, 2014. We adopted them when they were ready in early August.
The boys are basically twins with only a few differing attributes that help us tell them apart.
Harley (affectionally named after Harleen Quinzell) is the newer addition to our fur-family. I had a strong desire to get another kitten and we found ourselves at the Charleston Animal Society no-kill shelter, looking at kittens. Next thing I knew, she was coming home with us.
She’s an all black kitten with a small tuft of white fur on her chest. Harley was born April 26, 2015 and we adopted her this July.
Our cats are practically family. Seriously, I sometimes whip out my phone like a proud parent and show them to people. Yikes.
