I was presented with the opportunity through Brandbacker to try Maxasorb B12 by New York based company, Vita Sciences. I was given a full size sample in exchange for my honest review.
In case you don’t know, B-12 is one of the vitamins your body needs in order to promote overall energy and wellness. Because I have narcolepsy, I thought this would be an interesting product for me to try. In addition to the increased energy levels, this product claims to work well for those who suffer from psoriasis or eczema – soothing the inflamed, itchy patches of skin.
I stupidly tried this product for the first time after a long day at work. I’d just gotten home, retrieved my mail and decided to just follow the instructions of using 2 pumps of the product and rubbing it into my skin. Big mistake.
I was up the rest of the night. The sudden full dose of B12 was overwhelming and I couldn’t sleep. Oops. That’s really my fault – not the fault of the product. Now that I know the affect the product can have on me, I have been keeping it on hand and using a half dose in the morning before work and the second pump of the product during my break.
The product has a strong mint sort of smell to it that I am not fond of. That’s a personal preference thing as my boss also tried the product and enjoyed the fragrance. My only real issue with the Maxsorb B12 is that it claims to be “greaseless” and yet it feels quite greasy in application compared to that of a lotion. My co-workers agreed with me about that much.
I tried this product on my dry, itchy elbows since they always give me problems. The Maxsorb B12 did feel soothing and I noticed results after a few days of application. My elbows feel much softer, not the rough and almost burning sensation I was experiencing prior. So I will definitely say it works in that regard.
I’d recommend this product to people with skin problems related to eczema or if you have intensely dry skin from the winter months.
Have you ever tried a topical B-12 product like Maxasorb B12 before?
