I have a confession. For the love of Tate and Violet, I have now watched every episode of American Horror Story. Jeremy has only watched seasons 1-3, but I have proudly watched it all! Despite watching Season 4 first, I still call every character Evan Peters portrays, “Tate”. It’s all Tate.
THEY ARE ALL TATE!
That’s not even my confession. Ha! Hardly. The real confession is that I may have spent $14 that I shouldn’t have since I’m trying to save money for a new laptop. I might have bought a Funko Pop Tate figurne. Because, ya know… priorities.
More than that, I might have been super bored at work, repeatedly checking my email on my phone when I realized that I had an email from Hot Topic, letting me know that it had arrived. And then I might have excused myself for about 5 minutes with the permission of my manager so that I could run across the mall to get it.
FINE. I maybe… just maybe then proceeded to goof off at work because we had zero customers and took this awesome picture of my new Tate figurine. I know you are just dying to see him. You are welcome.
Look, I know his character is messed up. Really, really messed up. But there’s this strange part of me that loves him and wants to fix him – in a way only Violet can. I can’t help myself. Those eyes… that face. I just want him to nuzzle his adorable face in my bosom, pet his crazy blonde hair and tell him it’ll all be okay.
Wait, is that weird? #SorryNotSorry
My love of American Horror Story and specifically, Tate Langdon is once again proof that when I fandom, I fandom hard. I had an acquaintance who just isn’t in the slightest bit geeky present when I ran off to retrieve my Tate figurine.
She asked me “But, what do you as an adult, DO with it?” For a moment, I stared at her blankly. I put it on my mantle with the rest of my figurine collection and I stare at it all fondly. I mean, what else was she expecting? I forget sometimes that not everyone gets it – collecting, much less being a fan of something in this way.
She admitted that she isn’t into any fandom so she doesn’t spend money on things like this and doesn’t understand why adults do so. Actually, I in a way feel sorry for her and anyone else who doesn’t understand the joy of fandoms or collecting things because it makes me happy. It’s the little things…
Even if they are figurines of psychopathic killers on a television show.
Don’t even. You know it’s true. And if you just giggled even half as much as I did while I made that, you should be pinning it on Pinterest right now. And while you are there, check out my ever-growing American Horror Story board.
So come on… confess. How much do you love Tate Langdon? I can’t be the only weirdo here.
