I received my very first VoxBox courtesy of Influenster. Now that I have had time to try out each of the items, I wanted to share it with you! There was definitely a wide range of items – mostly beauty related, but a couple of errr… oddities as well.
Here’s what came in my box:
No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum (Full sized: $22.99) : I’m a bit embarrassed that I hadn’t put a whole lot of thought into taking care of my skin until this year when it began to defy me – even more so than it already did. I’m glad this was included in the box because its use reminded me that I need to take better care of my skin and gave me insight to how much better it can look and feel. The price seems a little steep, but I have a feeling it won’t be much longer before spending $22.99 for the sake of my skin seems like no big deal based on results alone.
Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover ($7.49) : Once again about the taking care of my skin thing! I am trying so hard to get into the habit of at least removing my makeup every night. This seems to do the trick, but for $7.49 I would rather something that can easily remove all of my makeup. I didn’t much care for using my cotton ball stash to try to only remove eye makeup. Cotton balls are for removing my nail polish, duh!
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner ($4.49) : I do not wear eyeliner. It’s just not my thing. Especially black eyeliner. Good grief… it makes me look like one of those angry emo goths I knew in high school. Pass! It seems otherwise like a good formula. The included Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover I mentioned had a hard time removing even a fresh application of it from my wrist. I’m not sure if that praises the eyeliner or calls into question the makeup remover.
NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum ($1.99) : I like the color and the formula seems pretty nice although a little drying as I find a lot of lipsticks to be. I applied my EOS lip balm under this and the results were pretty positive. I like that the color on me personally isn’t overwhelming. I’ve worn it on days I want to be a little more “dressy” instead of sticking to my everyday natural look.
EcoTools Hair Brush ($10.99) : I have a pixie cut and regularly use a bristled round brush to manage my hair, so I won’t really get use out of this. It seems like a nice, sturdy brush however and I’ll be keeping it around in case we ever have guests over who have forgotten theirs.
Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea : I really don’t like peppermint except for, ya know… peppermints. I am also not a regular green tea drinker. I tested this one out on my boyfriend and he wasn’t a huge fan either. I have tried out several Celestial Seasonings Teas in the past that I liked, so it’s just that this one isn’t for us.
Fruit Vines Bites ($1.79) : I’m not a fan. I have never liked licorice despite me trying so hard to. My boyfriend enjoyed them and in the end, that’s all that really matters.
McCormick Gourmet Thyme ($4.79) : The strangest item in the box. I haven’t used it if I am being really honest. My box arrived long after Thanksgiving when I would have maybe used it. But, I mean… it’s Thyme. I use a lot of McCormick products and I am sure as far as Thyme is concerned, it’ll get the job done!
Have you tried any of these products before?
