I am far from a fashionista. The fact that I can match my socks is a Christmas miracle. I was just never one of those girls who loved to go clothes shopping. Maybe it’s because I’ve always been a big girl or maybe it was lack of funds. Whatever it was, I am not usually the person you’d expect to put together an outfit.
But okay. Challenge me with making a winter outfit. I’m game! I really, really love Christmas but I don’t like to look like it threw up all over me. For those of you who like to dial down the Christmas while not looking like a total Scrooge, here’s an idea…
Yes, these items are outrageous expensive. But hey, it’s a start and it’ll give you a really good idea. TJMaxx, Belk and Ross in particular usually has some great knock-offs.
What do I like about this the most? It’s earthy and warm. The rich reds and browns go really well together (in my mind) and how freaking cute (and affordable compared to the rest of the outfit at just $32) is that little reindeer sweater!?
Why leather pants? I think they make a bold statement. You’re dialing down the Christmas so why not dial up the flair? Those pants scream “Look at me being all festive!” You’re just a few accessories away from pulling it all together.
