I’m feeling a bit better this week. Still tired, but not as much. I’m quite thankful for that.
Speaking of Thankful… Every year, everyone gets on Facebook and they post about what they are thankful for for 30 days in November. I usually do this, but I feel like that’s a total cop-out right now. I have so, so much to be thankful for and I am not going to condense it this year into 30 days so all of Facebook can swoon over the things I am thankful for.
Seriously… I’m thankful for everything. That’s all you need to know.
I feel rather accomplished this week. I have very little Christmas shopping left to do – much to my joy. I did well planning ahead this year (kudos to me for taking my own advice). I finished buying for Jeremy (as far as I know). I’ve bought him one “expensive” gift (what’s expensive for me anyways), a mid-range priced gift followed by several stocking stuffer type things. I’m pretty jazzed about that. I kind of couldn’t contain myself and gave him one of the smaller gifts tonight…
Batman Symbol Ice Cub Tray.
You know you’re totally jealous. It’s so cute… Jeremy already has it in the freezer. I thought it was perfect since I know he loves Batman and we’re really getting into watching the TV series, Gotham. He can totally geek out his drink in style.
Apparently he bought my Christmas present. I’m not getting my hopes up, but I think I know what it is and I am so super freaking jazzed. Oh um *ahem* tooootally not getting my hopes up. Nope.
Monday night when Jeremy picked me up from work, I kind of made him go buy himself a PS4. Okay, so it’s not like I had to drag him kicking and screaming to GameStop, but he’s been putting off this purchase for basically the whole time we’ve been together (6 Months!) and then some. We have other expenses we need to take care of, but what’s life if you don’t enjoy it?
Based on my suggestion, he purchased the PS4 Destiny Bundle. It’s a special edition white console (I have a love of white electronics… no idea why) and it comes with the Destiny game. My best friend has the same thing and thinks Destiny is all the rage. I’ve heard a lot of other good things about it and figured Jeremy would like it too. He spends a lot of time playing Black Ops on PS3 with his brothers so maybe when they all get PS4s, they can play this together.
Best part about the PS4? The box. Seriously… it’s cat approved.
Yes, that’s Bruce pouncing on the box with Oliver inside. *sighs* Our boys. I think this picture should be Playstation’s new ad campaign. They would totally sell tons more of them. Yup.
Ya know, I don’t even have the heart to take it away from Bruce and Oliver? They are genuinely having a blast with this stupid box. Besides, I finally took a box from ThinkGeek away from them earlier this week because it was in our bedroom and they kept trying to play with it in the middle of the night.
Mommy is so mean.
Oh geez. I am predicting a really bad holiday season. I don’t mean sales-wise. I think that’ll be okay. But people are already getting anxious and rude. Usually, this doesn’t happen until closer to Christmas and certainly not until Black Friday. I don’t know what people are so upset about lately, but I wish they would stop taking it out on me!
We did finally hire 2 new people… just in time to get them trained enough to help out during the holiday rush. It’s exciting and frustrating to have new blood in the store. I get so used to being the only employee that it’s hard not to feel a little territorial about my work.
I didn’t work on Halloween. I feel like maybe I should have – I probably would have enjoyed it. I love decorating the store and I can’t wait to get started with Christmas decorations. We put them up on Black Friday typically as we do not get the same sort of crazy rush other stores in the mall get (we’re primarily a repair shop).
That’s pretty much it for my week. I have a LOT of blogging to do today if I have any chance at keeping up. I have a guest post to write for My So-Called Chaos and a many giveaways happening here over the next 2 months.
