I don’t know what I did to please the beauty gods over at Poshly, but they recently sent to me what was described in an email as “beauty samples for you to try or give away”. I received a small, but heavy package in the mail and as I carried it home from my mail box, I thought “Wow… must be some serious samples in there…” as it was quite heavy for its size.
Upon opening the package, I came face to face with not samples, but full-sized items. I’m talking expensive, full-sized beauty products that I did not win or purchase. Is this what my hard work at blogging has earned me? If so… I’m okay with this! Thanks Poshly!
So let’s talk about my absolute favorite thing they sent to me…
Yes, you read that right. They sent me dirt – an all natural body scrub rich in antioxidants and hydrating oils. To quote the dirt website:
Dirt natural body scrubs remove the topical layer of dead skin cells and deposits antioxidants, essential and botanical oils into the skin. Known for unrivaled moisture, our vitamin E base and earth-derived ingredients create masterful formulas that nourish and moisturize the skin without leaving greasy residue. Our nutrient–rich body scrubs are lavishly accented with crushed apricot seeds, raspberry seeds and kiwi seeds to exfoliate, hydrate and rejuvenate the skin. Yes. Delayer. Natural beauty begins with exfoliation.
So here I am, staring at this full container of this dirt: Lemon Leaf Luxe Salt Scrub. I open it, smell it… Oh geez it smells sooooo good. Wow. It smells like lemon… but it’s more than that. It has this sort of fresh, clean, citrus smell that fills your bathroom.
I decide to try a little on my hands. I follow the instructions, wash my hand thoroughly and then I use my finger to mix the scrub a bit, redistributing the oils in the scrub. Taking a small portion into my hands, I begin to rub them together. The smell gets more intense and wonderful.
The scrub feels better than I expected, providing a sort of silky feeling once you get your hands more wet. It’s a good deal more oily than I expected, but not in a greasy sort of way. Most of the oil rinses off with warm water and you are left with just enough to rub into your hands afterwards – sort of like lotion.
My hands feel softer and my nails looked so healthy just after one use! I put my hands through a lot between work and painting my nails so often. This scrub definitely gave them some much needed love.
The down side? It’s $45.00 – yes, it’s kind of expensive. Worth it? I feel like it just might be. I feel incredible for using it, I smell freaking amazing and it is definitely a great way to take care of your skin in the dry winter months without making your skin feel greasy or bogged down.
Sorry Poshly, but unless you send me another, I won’t be giving this away! Ha…
