I am such an Autumn baby. I love it. I love it all. That certain smell the air gets when Autumn is just around the corner, the beautiful leaves as they turn their magnificent colors and the joyful sound of them crunching beneath my feet after they have fallen. There are hay rides, pumpkin everything and the world just seems a little more… relaxed. My birthday marks the start of Fall things for me. I know that once my birthday happens (it was yesterday by the way… thanks for the gifts) that autumn is practically here and I can start acting like it!
Getting in the autumn spirit was so much easier when I lived in Colorado. It’s like that state understood how all of this was supposed to work: The winds would pick up, the temperature would cool off, leaves would start to turn beautiful reds, oranges and golds before they eventually fell. Everything would just feel right. Here in South Carolina? Pfft. I’m lucky if I see the leaves turn, much less fall. It’s horribly hot and humid – usually through to December. The weather is even more kooky than anywhere else I’ve lived. It might be 65 degrees on Monday, but by Wednesday it’s 90 again and I play “Let’s guess the weather” with my clothing day to day… hour to hour.
Fortunately, there are some things you can do to start getting into the Autumn spirit. I’ve created a bucket list of 20 things I try to do every fall to get things rolling. Some are easier than others depending on where you live and what your climate is like. But eventually, you should be able to complete them all should you choose to follow my list. Of course, you can always create your own and I’d LOVE to see it! In fact, I have made this a Link Up post so that you can share your own Autumn Bucket lists. Feel free to do so at the end of this post.
Without further adue, here are 20 things to do in Autumn!
