I’ve decided to start a new segment on my blog. Since I am off from work on Wednesdays, I figured then would be the perfect opportunity to talk about all of the things that have gone on in my life in the last week – a sort of collection of happenings. And thus, Wednesday Wrap Up was born!
I found out this week that Jeremy has to go out of town next month for some sort of work training. It would just figure that it falls exactly on the week I have my tattoo scheduled. Blah. I’m really not amused. I wanted him there with me and I cannot possibly reschedule. The artist I have chosen for the work is really difficult to get in with – I was already super lucky to get the appointment in the first place. So rather than attempt to reschedule (meaning, I probably won’t have time between now and the end of the year for this… seriously), it looks like I will be getting my first tattoo alone. Maybe it’s better this way. It’s a pretty serious and meaningful memorial tattoo and I’m probably going to cry a lot.
Bruce and Oliver are growing so fast. It seems like it was just yesterday that their collars were too big and practically falling off of them. Oh wait… that was yesterday. They are getting aggressive – a lot more rough housing. It’s sort of like having teenage boys – because well, that’s kind of what they are at this stage.
I still cannot tell the two apart most of the time. The easiest way to tell is by their actions. Their personalities are so distinct. Bruce tends to be the more adventurous one. He’s the instigator. He picks fights with Oliver and is more prone to getting into things (someone peed in my laundry basket and I’ve got my money on Bruce). Oliver tends to be a little more hesitant. Oh he’ll fight back and believe me… he sometimes wins. But he prefers to let his brother lead him into new adventures. He’s the first to come when he hears your voice and he’s definitely a snuggle kitty. Bruce tries to act cool and pretend like he doesn’t love cuddles and petting. It’s like he doesn’t want his brother to know that he’s really a Momma’s boy – he waits until Oliver is sleeping and then proceeds to get up in my lap.
Because cat pictures are really why you’re here…
I’m sorry about the poor quality. I swear my old Galaxy SIII took much better quality photos compared to my Galaxy SIII replacement. Ugh. I really need a camera.
Apparently our shower is leaking into the apartment below ours.
Back story: Jeremy moved into this apartment in mid April of this year. It’s a decent apartment – a good amount of space and it mostly looks okay. From what I can tell, our neighborhood isn’t half bad. But honestly… I think it’s not nearly nice enough for what he pays for it.
They never did a walk through. They never re-painted the apartment after the previous tenants and it definitely needs it. You can easily see all of the repair work that has been done to this place over the years and it drives me a bit bonkers. Some of these repairs include work done in the bathroom.
Jeremy had lived here about a month when over a dozen tiles fell off of the wall inside of the shower. It took a while to get maintenance in to fix it and so he just went and showered in the guest bathroom for a couple of weeks. But then we noticed that the tiles were coming down in that shower as well and now we both shower in the master bathroom (his) until the tiles in the guest bathroom are fixed.
Today, Jeremy is showering after work and there’s a knock at the door – it’s the guy from the apartment below letting him know that he’s contacted maintenance and our tub is leaking. Maintenance takes a look and sure enough, there’s a crack in the tub and they are talking about re-glazing it. Um, what? It kind of seems (to me anyways) that there’s more involved than that. I don’t like cutting corners.
So now I have to orchestrate time with maintenance so that both showers get fixed and we can go back to having the two working bathrooms we pay for.
That’s basically my week right now. Work has been it’s usual. Life generally is otherwise its usual. I have a lot of hopeful plans coming up for the blog. I’m excited and it’s been hard to concentrate at work the last few days because of it. Yikes.
